Yes, I am a vintage hardware nerd. Every time I extract a screw from an old piece of furniture I have to pause and marvel at the beauty and craftsmanship that went into these quality controlled fastening devices. Just look at those cleanly cut threads and the polished heads. You won’t find anything close to this quality at Home Depot or the like. Anybody who’s ever searched through the bins looking for a screw that doesn’t have threads that look like they’ve been chewed on by an angry giraffe knows what I’m talking about.
